Condensation Pan Treatment
CDC Anti-Clog #1 Condensation Pan Treatment Chemical
The use of condensation pan chemicals are used in refrigeration drain pans and are designed to control the slime producing bacteria that leads to plugged drain lines causing water to backup and overflow the condensate drain pan. Anti-Clog treatment products control toxic bacteria, control slime, and prevent sludge from forming in the drain pan. Maintenance of the condensate system is critical to prevent air born diseases caused by molds and bacteria as well as damage to wall, ceilings should an overflow occur. Anti-Clog is registered with the EPA and NFS International. This chemical has been proven to control the bacteria know to cause Legionnaires Disease and should be considered as an important measure to prevent air-born disease associated with HVAC equipment.
Features:
- Prevents drain pan plugging
- Controls musty odors caused by molds, bacteria and slime
- Safe to handle, chemicals enclosed in a plastic container
- EPA registered
- NSF registered
- Unique design won't clog drain hole
- Felt wicking pad meters out chemical over 3 months
How it works:
Place the Anti-Clog unit with felt pad into the drain pan so that the pad is in contact with condensation water. The chemical will slowly dissolve into the water effectively controlling the formation of bacteria keeping the drain lines free and clear to prevent clogging of the drainage system.
Where it it used:
Condensation Systems: These systems are designed with drainage collection pans, troughs or piping. The cooling equipment will have cold coils that cause warm air to form water droplets on the heat exchanger surface of the condensing coils. This water will collect in a drain pan and if left un-treated will facilitate bacteria growth leading to plugging and eventual overflow of water causing serious damage to the surrounding area.
Hotel Air Conditioners: Small air-conditioners have condensation collection pans with drain lines. Should these lines become plugged with bacteria and system will overflow onto carpets and ruin drywall, drapery and flooring. Use the Anti-Clog strips in small air conditioning systems to control the slime.
Vending Machines: Keep drain lines clear and prevent backups caused by slime producing bacteria
Walk-in coolers, Beverage Dispensers and Ice Machines: Any system that has condensation forming with a drain pan will benefit from the condensation pan treatment chemicals.
