EZ-Purge Automatic Drain Valve 3/4"

EZ-Purge Automatic Drain Valve

The EZ-Purge is used to automatically open a motorized 3/4"  ball valve or electric solenoid valve for a set amount of time from 1 to 60 seconds. Activation occurs each time power is applied to the interval timer.

Typical applications include: 

• Filtration System Purging
• Centrifugal Separator Purge Valve
• Condensation Line Purge
• Automatic Drain Valve

Note: This is not a repeating interval timer. This system will activate each time power is applied so it's not intended to be connected to a continuous power source.

Typically this is used on a well water system and is connected in parallel to the pressure switch used to activate the wells submersible pump. 

Instructions: 

Connect power cord to to either a 110VAC or 220 VAC ensuring that this is a switched power source. Usually in parallel to a pressure switch found in a typical well circuit. 

Connect automatic valve to system piping. 

Set interval timer knob to activate motorized ball valve or solenoid for no less than 5 seconds ensuring that the motorized ball valve has fully opened.

Note: KLD075 motorized ball valve(3/4")  takes 5 seconds to open and 5 seconds to close when power is removed so the minimum interval is a total of 10 seconds purge time.  

For installation on sand separator: 

Ensure that the motorized ball valve is installed on a horizontal length of pipe and not directly connected to the drain fitting. This ensures that sand does not collect right against the ball valve and is swept through the valve during purging minimizing ball and valve seat scoring when the valve closes should sand particles become trapped in the valve. All ball valves and valve seats are considered wear items. Planed maintenance and replacement should be considered normal wear and tear in this scenario. For this reason the ball valve and valve seats are under warranty for 90 days. The actuator and electronics are under warranty for 1 year.
