Motorized Water Control Valve

There are no products listed under this category.

Motorized water control valves adjust, start, and stop the flow of water as required in an application or as per the preset program. This helps in seamless flow and prevents backflow. At Cannon Water Technology, we offer premium quality water treatment motorized control valves manufactured by reputed and certified valve manufacturers. These water control valves keep the system flow efficient and also help achieve temperature control. We also have our own production unit. We assure competitive pricing and fast turnaround times for shipping across the US.

FAQs

Here are some common questions we get from our prospective clients regarding our motorized control valves. We have answered most of them in this section

  • What is a motorized control valve?

As mentioned, this valve controls the flow of water in the right direction and at the required rate. It also ensures starting and stopping the flow as well as prevents backflow. The water flows when the valve is open and the flow stops once it closes. They have actuators which facilitate the opening and closing motion.

  • How does a motorized zone control valve work?

This valve works with the help of an electric motor which is connected to its stem. When the motor is activated, the valve ball or gate open or close that changes the flow of the liquid inside. This motor may be either controlled by an integrated process system or a simple programmable logic controller (PLC) switch. Some valves have actuators to facilitate opening and closing motion and also communicate with the sensors to adjust the flow rate, temperature, and other parameters. Based on the information they receive the actuators help open or close the valve.

  • How do you check if a motorized valve is working?

In heating or HVAC systems, motorized valves use electricity to direct the water flow to the cylinder or coil where the water starts heating. If the water does not heat, there could be an issue with the motorized valve. You can troubleshoot the same with the right equipment as well as checking the valve display, power status, relay status, configuration, opening and closing limit, system feedback such as overheating, and so on.

  • Why do motorized valves fail?

There are several reasons for a valve to fail or stop functioning. It may be jammed or clogged with impurities or contaminants from the water. It may also happen due to system overheating.

  • Where are motorized valves located?

They may be located in pipeline beginning. Typically, motorized valves are located in otherwise hard to reach areas of a system.

  • Should motorized valves be on the flow or return?

This depends on the application requirement. You can install them either on the flow path or in the return pipe.

  • What position should 3-port valves be in?

A 3-port motorized valve is configured in a Y plan in many HVAC systems. They should be set in the mid position with both the other ports open. Now, test the valve function. If the valve functions normally reset the thermostat and the program to fix or save the control settings.

  • What is the difference between a 2-port and 3-port valves?

The basic difference is in the number of ports. The 2-port valve has 2 ports while 3-port valve has three ports. The former facilitates water flow in only one direction, while the latter type lets the water flow in two directions.
