LPR sensors, such as the CR-200, provide easy, affordable, and instant corrosion measurement. Furthermore LPR level reading represents the real-time electrochemical measurement of corrosion. Lastly measurements gathered from the CR-200 are instant and represent the “real-time conditioning” on an MPY scale based on the metallurgy being assessed.
The CR-200 corrosion rate sensor is ideal for cooling and process water treatment monitoring where reliability and affordability are a must. The sensor utilizes the linear polarization resistance (LPR) method to produce a raw signal. The raw signal is conditioned, amplified and digitized directly in the sensor itself. This avoids the interferences of the raw signal caused by long distance wiring needed for other corrosion sensors. Next, our corrosion sensors measure sample water conductivity directly and compensate for the conductivity impact on LPR measurement. These unique product characteristics make the Pyxis Lab® LPR superior in performance and accuracy. In addition to the LPR measurement used to obtain the general corrosion rate, the CR-200 sensor also measures for electrochemical noise. Also, measured noise data is used to calculate an index to quantify the localized corrosion rate also referred to as pitting.
