Peristaltic Pumps

Peristaltic pumps are positive displacement pumps that move fluids through a flexible tube or hose by squeezing and releasing it in peristaltic motion. These pumps comprise a rotor with rollers that compress the tube. This creates a series of compressions and decompressions to propel the fluid forward. Their ability to handle sensitive fluids without contaminating them makes them a popular choice across industries, such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, water treatment, and biotechnology.

Being one reliable supplier of chemical feed systems, Cannon Water Technology provides peristaltic pumps and their required accessories. All pumps listed below are sourced from top industry-leading brands.

Working Principle of Peristaltic Pumps

The peristaltic pump works on the principle of peristalsis, alternating compression and decompression of the hose or tube, drawing content in while propelling product away from the pump. The rotor of the pump compresses and decompresses the tube at specific intervals. This creates a series of waves that move along with the tube length. As the tube is compressed, the inside fluid moves forward, creating a positive displacement action, and a precise volume of fluid is moved with each compression.

One significant advantage of these pumps is that fluid is only pumped when it comes in contact with the interior surface of the tube. This makes them appropriate for pumping corrosive, viscous, or sensitive fluids without contaminating the pump.

Beneficial Features of Peristaltic Metering Pumps Offered by Cannon Water Technology

Our peristaltic pumps have been used across industries owing to the beneficial features they offer. Here are some important ones.

  • Our high flow peristaltic pumps move fluids using a squeezing motion rather than direct contact with mechanical parts. Therefore, they can handle delicate or sensitive substances without causing damage.
  • Being positive displacement pumps, they provide precise and repeatable fluid metering and dispensing, guaranteeing precise control over flow rates and volumes.
  • At Cannon Water Technology, we offer analog and digital peristaltic pumps with varied specifications. Both feature a new PC front cover that opens easily and stops in an open position, allowing tool-free tube replacement.
  • Analog pumps use potentiometers to control the analogic speed. They feature edge-free squeeze, making tube replacement easier. Most of our pumps come with a complete installation kit, including a PVC transport tube and a foot filter with ceramic weight.
  • Our digital peristaltic pumps have an easy-to-program digital menu that facilitates precise and accurate settings. Features such as numeric variable speed control, rinse limit, rinse delay, and alarm delay help enhance operational control and flexibility.
  • Most digital pumps have an IP65 protection degree and class II electrical insulation, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging environments. The password protection feature adds an extra layer of security to these pumps, preventing unauthorized access to settings and configurations.
  • Our quality and performance-driven high pressure peristaltic pumps can handle varied pressures. Thus, they work best with flow rates in low micro-dosing applications and high outputs for chemical transfer applications.
  • The on/off/priming switch activates and deactivates peristaltic pumps. However, some are self-priming, which means they can start pumping fluids without the risk of air locking.
  • All pumps are ideal for handling various fluids, including chemicals, viscous liquids, slurries, and even gases. This makes them suitable for use in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, water treatments, and laboratories.

The pumps are secured within a pump case, which is made from chemical resistant ABS and rugged material. The pumps are used in a variety of applications like cooling towers, laundries, agriculture, warewashing, etc.
  • Chem-Tech: Chem-Tech pumps provide easy dosing, and excellent pump control. These properties make them a popular choice across various industries.
  • Knight Equipment: We provide variable speed metering peristaltic pumps from Knight Equipment. These pumps feature a robust chemical metering system, which provides an array of flow rates, as well as high-performance controls to meet diverse pumping needs.

Benefits of Choosing Peristaltic Dosing Pumps

Peristaltic pumps have a drive system that turns rollers, which compress the tube, creating a vacuum which helps fluid flow through the tube. The pump has only one wetted part – flexible tubing. These additional benefits have contributed to their growing popularity:

  • The pump has a unique design which makes them self-priming, and enables them to handle high viscosity fluids.
  • Fluid only comes in contact with the flexible tubing. This helps create an easy-to-clean, contamination-free system.
  • The flexible tubing is easily replaced which helps to minimize maintenance.
  • Unlike other pumps, these pumps have a low shear and gentle pumping action, which makes them ideal for handling various sensitive fluids.

Features of Peristaltic Pumps

The following are features of peristaltic pumps provided by us:

  • We offer a wide range of branded peristaltic pumps, which can handle pressures up to 8.6 bar (125 PSI). These pumps are capable of handling flow rates from very low micro dosing applications as well as very high outputs for chemical transfer applications.
  • All pumps provide repeatable and accurate flow rates.
  • The pumps enable contamination-free pumping, and are ideal for slurries, sensitive fluids, caustics, and aggressive acids.
  • Most pumps are easy to install, as well as maintain.
